Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver, even in tight spaces.
For an easy ride, opt for a pram that has air-filled tyres. Also, look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. However, they are susceptible to punctures so be prepared with a repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
New figures show that three-wheeled buggies that were the symbol of the noughties that were more expensive than common sense, are in a steep decline. They've been replaced with four-wheelers that are able to handle a wider variety of terrain, yet still look elegant and easy to push.
The bigger the wheels are, the better your buggy will cope with bumpy and uneven pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear allow you to move and more stable when walking downhill or in difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy out with the newborn baby and a 3-year-old child and found it to be very durable. It was able to withstand cobbles, grass and rough pavements as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said it felt sturdy to push, and very solid on difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable so need occasionally pumping) have suspension built-in, which was very comfortable for my children.
The size and shape of the seat is another thing to consider. You want the seat to be big enough for your child to be comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies will have the option of reclining completely, while others allow an adult facing one.
A great option for those who want to tackle off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. It can be used as a single unit from birth and then adapts to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth to age 4, and includes a bumper and raincover, a new 5-point harness, and a huge cushioned seat. Storage options are also great, with a large basket, zip pockets on the hood and a handy pouch at the rear of seat unit.
Wheels with a larger diameter
Larger wheels will give your buggy greater stability when driving over rough terrain. This is perfect for off-road buggies. They also allow you to move the pushchair around tight spaces. Some three-wheeled buggies feature rotating wheels at the front to assist you in navigating tight corners. Others are designed for running and have fixed wheels that lock for greater speed and stability. This is also helpful if you bump into an unintentional tree root or curb, since the front wheel will lift up slightly to prevent you from hitting it.
Many 3 wheel pushchair s feature air-filled tyres, which means they can handle many different terrains and are far more flexible than 4-wheeler. They are also lighter. They are also more susceptible to punctures, so you will require a repair kit and spare inner tube in your arsenal.
Some of our favourite 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. These buggies, as per MFM's Kath, have larger wheels, which she claims "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles", and can easily move up and down kerbs. They also have a suspension system which according to her "smoothes out bumps with great efficiency".
The downside of having larger wheels is that they make some buggies quite broad and may struggle to squeeze through narrow spaces. This is a problem if you're using it as a jogger or to maneuver through narrow doorways when out and out and about. The majority of models come with compact folding options that let you remove the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.
Easy to manoeuvre
One of the primary benefits to a three wheel buggy is that it's much more maneuverable, especially with a child in tow. They are designed so that the front wheels rotate at a moment's notice, and are easy to maneuver, making them perfect for challenging terrain such as parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3-wheeler with her toddler. she reported: "The Terrain is a joy to maneuver on rough terrain. The swivel wheel in the front was particularly useful." I was also amazed by how well it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. It was very stable going downhill or on a rough terrain."
The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the three wheel buggy's larger wheels do sometimes mean it has to be difficult to maneuver in tight spaces - something to consider when you live in a urban region. If this is an issue then a 4-wheeled buggy could be the better option for you.

Bumper bar
Bumper bars can shield your child from bumps and scrapes when out and about. They are simple and quick to install and make your child feel safe and secure whilst out on the town or on the trail.
The bumper bar is designed to complement the sleek lines on the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller. It features a soft, padded surface that provides a comfortable surface for your child to grab onto while walking. The sturdy construction and durable design will ensure that your child is capable of enjoying a stroll around town without fear of falling or leaning towards the side.
The sling seat is snug inside the frame as opposed to sitting on top like modular seats do, providing the lowest centre of gravity at the appropriate height for your baby and also providing an excellent weight distribution to facilitate kerb pop (it takes much less effort to push the buggy over and up a curb than you think). MFM reviewer Kath found it coped really well with grass and cobbles and is a great choice for jogging due to its lockable swivel front wheel that can be locked and air-filled tyres.
This bumper bar will turn heads wherever it is used. It has a classy and stylish design. It's available in a range of colours and finishes to suit your style. The bumper bar can be removed and installed using the quick-release mechanism. The bumper bar is also easy to clean since it is constructed from strong materials. This makes it an excellent option for families seeking a stylish and secure stroller accessory.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy is a great off-road vehicle for handling and performance. With the perfect geometry and engineering, as well as weight distribution this kind of buggy is able to turn on a dime and be a breeze to steer with just one hand. All Mountain Buggies pass the same rigorous stability standards and tests as buggies with 4 wheels.
With a fabric sling seat positioned snugly inside the frame, not on top of it like modular seats, the Sport's smart design allows it to have a lower centre of gravity at the right height for your child, providing you with a smoother push, a less hefty curb pop (you do not require any effort or weight to push the nose of your buggy up and over the curb) and better stability and balance. With the 16" rear wheels, lockable front wheel, and air-filled tyres which allow for a more smooth, comfortable jogging.
As the only pushchair in our collection with a parent-facing seat that can also take a car seat or carrycot, you can future proof your family and have fun on every moment of your day and into the future in the footprint of a single buggy!
But that's not the only reason you should love this buggy Our MFM reviewer Kath loved how spacious it is as well. There's a easily accessible large basket that's surprisingly spacious for a buggy that's this big. Additionally, there's an excellent pouch on the back seat unit, and 2 smaller mesh pockets under the hood where you can keep your keys and phone.
